Shark vs Octopus

For the past few weeks, Room 1 have been learning about Sharks and Octopuses.

Ms Petrus showed a video of a shark and an octopus in a tank and we had to predict what would happen using what we have learnt about sharks and octopuses.

The shark is looking for the octopus. The shark found the octopus. The octopus sprayed ink at the shark. It ..... missed the shark. The octopus ran fast but the shark swam faster. The octopus got munched by the shark. Imran

The shark likes to eat octopus. The octopus is trying to hide from the shark. Then the shark saw the octopus and the shark and the octopus fought. I think the shark is going to win. The shark is going to gobble up the octopus. Akesa

I think the shark is going to win because the shark is going to bite the octopus with  his sharp, white teeth. The shark is going to eat the octopus because the octopus looks like a rock but the shark knows the octopus is like a rock. Mariam

 When the shark tries to catch the octopus it will spray ink at it and camouflage into a rock.  Alzarah

Then we pretended we were one of the animals in the video and wrote the story from the animals point of view.  Here are a few of our ideas:

I am a dog shark. I don't attack other creatures. Sometimes I attack little animals. I can dart crazily fast through the water. I have a poisonous spine. Then the octopus saw me. I swam and hit the octopus on the back hard so it died. I have a bullet shaped body.  Imran

I am the octopus. If a dog shark comes I hide on the rock. Then I start to fight with the dog shark. Then I win and I am safe. So I hide and eat the dog shark. I use the beak under my head  to bite the dogfish. When I eat the dog fish I try to get another one. Akesa

I think I should be the octopus because I changed my mind today. I am the octopus because I catch the shark and I'm awesome. I like to catch a shark today. I live in the water and I love to live in the water. Mariam
