Being safe in the car

On Tuesday Constable Jamieson talked to us about being safe in the car and he showed us pictures. He also read us a story about children fighting in the car. We learnt that it is bad to distract the driver.
After that we went to his car and practised using the seat belt.

Children should sit in the back of the car and grown ups sit in the front of the car.
When we get into the car we must put our seat belts on.

Ita is putting his seatbelt on and making sure it clicks in.

Francesca is pulling her seatbelt tight to make sure she is safe.

Some children got to tell us how to keep safe in the car by using the police speaker. Amethyst got to turn on the siren.
Luck girl.

Thank you Constable Jamieson. We are going to make sure we always put our seat belts on to be safe in the car.

Crossing the Road Safely

This week Constable Jamieson taught us how to cross the road safely.
First we must stop.
Then we look right and the left.
If there are no cars coming, then we can go but we must keep looking right and left. If there is a car coming down the road we must stop and wait for it to pass, when there are no cars we can cross the road, looking right and left.

Here is a video of us practising how to cross the road safely.
