Learning at Waikowhai Beach
Yay it didn't rain. Wakadee doo I didn't know we were going to Waikowhai beach.
We had some parents waiting for us in vans and cars to drive us to Waikowhai park.
Room one took the long way down to the beach.
The sea was massive and there was lots of sand at the beach.
We went there to see what happens to the rubbish that gets washed out to sea.
We found lots of rubbish that the tide brought in.We picked up glass. We got two plastic bags, one had rubbish and the other one had lots of shells a stick and rocks.
The tide brings in fish skeletons, sea weed and some rubbish came in to.
We went up about eighty stairs to get back to the park. The steps were so high some of us had to take big steps. We were all so tired after that and our legs were very sore.
When we got back to class we checked out what we had in the bags. There was biodegradable and non biodegradable things there. We found out that biodegradable things were living things and non biodegradable things are man made things. Biodegradable stuff is good for the environment but non biodegradable stuff is not good for the environment, because they can kill animals.
We learnt to never put rubbish on the ground because it would go in the sea.
